They have established the Caloundra Regional Gallery since 1993 as part of the Sunshine Coast Council’s arts program. It was originally housed in the old Caloundra Library building but moved into its current location in 1999. There is also a small exhibition space dedicated to showcasing work by international artists. In addition to regular exhibitions, the gallery hosts special events such as film screenings, music performances and live art installations.

The beach has hosted since 1974 the much revered and one of Australia’s longest running surfing competitions – the Pa and Ma Bendall Memorial Surfing Contest. There’s even a park named after the famous local couple to keep the kids entertained. Ma and Pa Bendall Park is a grassy park next to the beach with surf-themed play equipment for kids to crawl and climb over and through.

Visitors and locals alike come here for swimming, surfing and fishing. There are also numerous cafes, bars and restaurants available within walking distance of the beach.
